While visiting Oman, consider riding along the magnificent coastline of Batinah to visit the Oasis of Nakhal and a pre-Islamic fort in Rustaq.

Private Rustaq and Nakhal City Highlights

Your full-day tour of Rustaq and beyond starts in the morning at the Muscat Port gate. Travel along the stunning backdrop of the Batinah coastline, as you make your way to multiple destinations. You will get to admire mother nature at its finest as well as explore the historical landmarks of Oman.

Your first stop at Thowarah Hot Springs will put you in the right frame of mind. Admire the breathtaking views of palm trees and natural springs that have delighted visitors for ages. After enjoying the vastness of the land, you will make your way to the historical part of your journey. Visiting the Nakhal Fort will be a very memorable experience. This fort was named after the Wilayah of Nakhal and dates back to the 17th century. You're sure to appreciate the uniqueness of the fort's structure as it was built to fit around irregularly-shaped rocks. Inside the fort, you will find a museum and a historic gun exhibit.

After your tour in Nakhal, ride to your next destination in the town of Rustaq. There you will get to visit another pre-Islamic fort that is just as amazing as the one in Nakhal. One of the most outstanding features of Rustaq Fort is its four watchtowers - Al Burj Al Ahmar (The Red Tower), Al Burj Al Hadeeth (The Modern Tower), Al Burj Al Reeh (The Wind Tower), and Al Burj Ashiateen (which means, rather ominously, The Devil's Tower). These extraordinary structures will leave you awe-struck! After snapping pictures galore outside the fort, you will make your way back to Muscat for another scenic ride along the coast.
